Fr. Jack Shrum
Talk: The Gift of Adoration

Fr. Jack’s love for Adoration radiates from his humble manner. He is well known for his engaging homilies, iconography, and gift of sharing the beauty of God with others.

Born in Billings, Montana, Fr. Jack has lived in the Seattle area since 1988. When he was Confirmed in 2000, he knew that he was called to serve God in His Church. Later that same year, he was visiting the Church of Saint Alphonsus in Rome. It was there, before the image of Our Mother of Perpetual Help that a grace was given that confirmed his call to the priesthood. He went on to study theology for seven years at Mount Angel Seminary in St. Benedict, OR. While at the seminary, he also studied iconography a discipline that for him is relaxing, rewarding, and spiritually edifying. Ordained by Archbishop Burnett in 2008, he was first assigned as parochial vicar for the parishes of Lewis County. He is an oblate of St. Benedict and has traveled to Guatemala and Haiti as a Global Fellow for Catholic Relief Services. He is currently the priest administrator for St. Andrew Parish in Sumner and St. Cosmos and Damian Mission in Orting.
